i had the same problem. there is no option other than a clean install. hopefully in the future, microsoft wont allow users to delete files needed to uninstall beta service packs.

also, you should only use the latest ROM version. you dont need every single ROM file (if any). each successive version contains all the fixes/enhancements from the last.

they are safe to defrag with no loss of data, so long as you dont lose power. dont defrag during severe weather. (sounds silly, doesnt it?) :)
