should I leave the receiver plugged in the whole time or plug it in after double installing?

edit: IT LIVES!!! That double install method worked, got the tray icon and everything to appear thanks!!

I know this thread is a week old and sorry to necro it if you consider it too old, but I have an ATI Remote Wonder (the first version, same as the one in that photo) and have not been able to get it...
