Ah thanks. It looks like SyncToy will do the trick. I am having a play around with it now. Seems that you can get it do stuff from the command line and schedule it to do Sync everything. :)

Well I just got around to solving this and thankfully it didn't turn out to be a problem with either the HDD or Media Centre :o. But some of the suggestions here lead to me figuring out what it was....

Ok thanks mate that seems to have done the trick. I was expecting it to be more of an OS thing. No reset button on the hub but left it switched off for a few minutes and all is well.
