Actually all the work was done by the repairer, not me. Just to make sure! I do not need either Recovery files or partition, which can be deleted? Provided, that is, I can get to them!:confused:

It was the cmd exe item that I hadn't disabled, it being an MSoft item. Another incidental matter is that the boot tab reveals as in attachment one current and three old versions....

Since my computer came back from the repair man, having been re-installed and with a new graphics card, a DOS screen appears very briefly.

No one on this forum is at fault. IMHO faults often lie with the computer and hard/s'ware manufacturers. who do not communicate well or by accident or otherwise do not tell all.
