if there were any partition table information on ur drive partition wizard would have cached it so if it didn't find any partition table means windows can't be stored. Hence the word 'dead' in that...

well you can do this..put the old ide hdd back..image the partition using windows system image backup.. and then.. prepare a windows 7 repair Dvd.. and then..remove the ide hard drive, put the 500gb...
