Try reassigning the line in jack to bass/center...

Try reassigning the line in jack to bass/center channel and plugging into it. Fix the no 5.1 problem for me. Or can uninstall the realtek driver and use the one that comes with windows 7.

Realtek? The bass/center channel port on my mobo does not work with the realtek drivers (does with the basic Win7 audio drivers). I reassign the line in port to bass/center channel and have 5.1.
