Right-click your Task Bar, open "Task Manager," and check your CPU usage. If your system is near 100% CPU usage (which I am guessing it is) you probably have a virus hidden somewhere.

Do you have an external display device that you can connect to the laptop using VGA or HDMI? If the display does not appear on the external monitor, you likely have an issue with the graphics...

With the specs on this new laptop you should be able to operate x64 without issues. But, if you run into high memory usage, then you should install more RAM (like suggested above.)
