This was driving me mad as "Windows LIVE Mail" is dreadful and other options such as using Thunderbird, etc just don't come close to Outlook...

I did NOT say Windows XP was unable to index UNC drives, what I said was Search 4.0 does not work properly. I always get my users to remove Search 4.0 on XP and their search problems mainly...
