Apps stoped working "...has stopped working" after sleep power off

Hello

I have a strange error. Certain applications just stop working after a while. It's happened after my computer has been in sleep mode - and electricity went off due to some in-house repairs....

oh yeah: if it helps - since I don't remember...

oh yeah: if it helps - since I don't remember every step - but it did show a list of "corrupted" files and offered a fix/replacement.

also, now there is no restore point before that "repair"...

Nope... I did it at boot - because I could not even get Safe mode start at boot: only: Normal (hanged :( ) and Repair......

I honestly am not sure - maybe I did Repair Install, but after all trouble (you know: 1 day of rebooting,.... :( ) - I went this route and it explicitly...

- it deleted profiles of existing users, and data in Documents, Settings, Desktop,... all lost

- programs were left ok, unless...
