This happened to me with Fear 2,removal of the old 56k modem still in the computer solved the problem for me.

Could be worth a try if you have an old dial up modem lurking in your pc somewhere. ...

I had AVG free anti virus installed on a new computer(Windows 7 home 64)as an interim until i re-activated my Norton subscription.AVG uninstalled,Norton installed but now in IE 8 in manage add-ons...
