Skip "checking for solution"

When a program crashes, generally i just press CTRL+SHIFT+ESC, quickly locate it in processes, then ALT+E (end process) for an instant shutdown.

Both Vista and Win7 are capable of shutting down...

Fixing a laptop, "windows.old" folder

Customer dropped off a laptop telling me that his Windows upgrade had failed.

It's a new HP DV6 that had Vista pre-installed on it.

I've taken a look at it, and there's a "Windows.old" folder...

Simply put, windows 7 requires less ram at boot, and during normal operation in extended periods than vista does. There really isn't much more too it...

Full defrag option via cmd

The defrag tool in Windows Vista and Windows 7 seems to skip fragments larger than 64MB in size in order to cut down on defrag times.

This problem was easily "solved" by going into command prompt...
