It had been running smoothly for about 5 hours but I turned it off for the night, remembered I needed to do something before bed, and had a BSOD within a minute.

I did get a handful of errors when trying memtest...

I did get a handful of errors when trying memtest but resetting the bios back to auto made them go away when I gave memtest another three runs. Doesn't fill me with confidence, I must admit.

Thanks for your help. Chrome occasionally asks for a disk to be placed in the D drive (which is a DVD writer), so maybe that is part of the problem.
