My copy of Ultimate (from the Redmond company store) did that. I thought it was quite funny that MS could think a copy they sold directly was not genuine.

Yes there are some programs to detect hardware but if your eyes are good (or you have a magnifying glass [I am old]) look at the motherbaord and you will see a couple of small(!) square chips,...
