Problem resolved: it has nothing to do with Bonjour.

the file hosts is saved as hosts.bak or hosts.txt by Notepad!!!!

use gvim instead.

btw, how do you turn on file extension in windows 7?...

how to share files with linux, xp and windows7

Can people post links to how to share files with linux (samba) and with xp and other windows7 machines? Been on windows 7 for a full 72 hours, like it so far, there are a few things not familiar...
