i checked each slot, finding nothing wrong with them, i then thought to try playing starcraft 2 again thinking it was all fine but even with the good ram in, I received BSOD's :/

These were caused by fltmgr.sys crashing because of your Symantec AV.

I would remove Symantec and replace with Microsoft security essentials and run a system file check to repair the system files...
