The Alfa High Gain 1000mW USB Adapter (http://valu-trek.com/wi-fi-range-extension-via-alfa-awus036h-usb-adapter) is hands-down the best. They even have one with 2000mW of power.

Have you tried the Alfa AWUS03h (http://*******/rmrAtY) with the RTL8187L chipset. My brother uses it with Win7 64bit but I don't know if its the Win7 Ultimate.
