The issue has been investigated with the help of forum members and a successful fix has been distributed on a per-request basis. I have received the fix and am happy to confirm that the fix does fix NIS indeed.

I have been following the Norton forum and saw that information. Hopefully they will release the update soon as some have reported it also fixes the shutdown problem where NIS wont release the registry and you get Event Viewer Warnings. Thanks for the update.

Good to know - although I do not seem to have that problem with NIS 2011. But thanks anyhow.

What version are you running? Not everyone got the update and only some of those that did had the problems. I have NIS2011 ver 18.1.0.37 since they pulled the update before I got to it.

I do not think I ever got the update.

Still on 18.0.1.37

Isn't it normal to stagger the build updates for situations such as this?

I believe Norton pushes the update out to select groups then releases it to everybody else. The updates started around 12/9 but then they pulled it on 12/13. So some people got it and some didn't. 18.5.0.125 was the problem. Shouldn't be long before the update is released but may have a different version number to cut down on the confusion.

If any of you are having this issue are are able to run LiveUpdate, please do so. An update called "Norton 2011 SRTSP Settings" will download and contains the fix.

It is possible that Automatic LiveUpdate may have already downloaded this in the background.

If you have version 18.5.0.125 then running LiveUpdate should download the fix. Hopefully they will release a new update soon.
