5 Reasons Why Your Life Will Be Miserable Without an Antivirus Quote: Although antivirus programs are affordable today, there are still certain computer users who still do not have one installed. If you are one of those who still do not have an antivirus installed in your computer, this is why your life will be miserable.

With so many free products to choose from why would anybody still take a chance on getting infected? Just install something reputable. It's got to offer more protection than having nothing at all. | My System Specs | | Computer type Laptop System Manufacturer/Model Number Sony Vaio VPCEB47GM Laptop OS Win 7 Pro 64-bit CPU Intel i5 2.4 Ghz Memory 8GB DDR3 Graphics Card Intel HD 3000 Sound Card IDT High Definition Monitor(s) Displays 15.6 WGXA Anti-Glare LED Screen Resolution 1280x800 Hard Drives 640Gb 7200rpm Antivirus MSE Browser Opera (primary) with IE9 backup |

I use Avast Free, MBAM free on demand along with MVPS hosts and Adblock Plus w/subscriptions inside Firefox, block third party cookies...etc...and I'm snug as a bug-in-a-rug.
Then again there's some users who can use the strongest protection known to mankind who will ultimately fall prey to the PEBKAC factor and/or ID-10-T Error then blame their "stupid, useless" AV, lol.

Yep.
I think a lot of this reluctance to use security suites dates back to XP and earlier where you had only bloated offerings that definitely slowed down many PCs and made many almost as usable as a virus would!!!!
Even old baddies like Norton and McAfee are much much better than they were just several years ago, heck Norton one of the worst offenders a few years ago for bloat and causing system slowdowns are now very light on resources for most PCs that are 5 years old or less.
Again the companies that make the security are NOT getting the word out effectively. I know how good MSE is through word of mouth on sites like this, BUT the general public doesn't see this ...
MS needs to make sure that people know how effective and resource light MSE is.
Honestly I think MSE should advertise on TV . That is one of the most effective ways to reach consumers even today. ALSO EXTREMELY IMPORTANT IS THAT PC OWNERS MUST BE TOLD THAT BEFORE YOU INSTALL A SECURITY SUITE YOU WANT ALL TRACES OF ANY OTHER SECURITY SOFTWARE TO BE COMPLETELY REMOVED WITH THE MAKER SPECIFIC REMOVAL TOOLS THAT ALL THESE PROVIDERS OFFER!
THIS IS NEVER MADE CLEAR TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC, AND IT CAUSES HUGE ISSUES FOR MANY CONSUMERS!!!!! | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number hp pavilion 6680t OS win 7 home premium 64 bit CPU core i5 760 Motherboard iona (from MSI) Memory 6 gb Graphics Card ati 5450 Sound Card real tek 888 |

People need to take into account that if they don't have an AV, they are just helping propagate these viruses. Most viruses/malware will scan your E mail addys, and pass it on to all your contacts. If it doesn't stop at your PC, it's going to probably get passed on to who knows how many people...and so on, and so on..... | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Dell Hell oh Well OS Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit CPU Intel Core 2 Duo 2.93GHz Memory Not much with my ADHD Graphics Card ATI Radeon HD 4350 Monitor(s) Displays I have one...It's bright. I run my x32 XP test machine without any AV..............But, I run my browser in Sandboxie Paid, never use any other source except the browser, and I send any download to VirusTotal first before running. I also run a scan with either Hitman Pro or Malwarebytes after each use. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Home Premium x64 SP1 5 Reasons Why Your Life Will Be Miserable Without an Antivirus problems?
