Richard Clarke: China has hacked every major US company

Quote:
Summary: Cybersecurity advisor Richard Clarke is warning the U.S. that its major companies are being regularly infiltrated by Chinese hackers employed by the Chinese government to steal R&D.

Richard Clarke, a former cybersecurity and cyberterrorism advisor for the White House, was a U.S. government employee for 30 years: between 1973 and 2003. He worked during the times of Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton, and even George W. Bush. He may not be working under current U.S. president Barack Obama, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have something to warning about. He says state-sanctioned Chinese hackers are stealing R&D from U.S. companies, threatening the long-term competitiveness of America. We’ve heard this before, but the way Clarke puts it makes the situation look even more dire.

I know that the problem is not unique, but my browser popped a security warning when going to that link:

Yeah, some portion of the page that tries to connect has a bad certificate. In Opera I just press cancel, and that ad won't be loaded. A Guy

I will be interested to read it - so thanks for posting it up.

However, it is hardly news - been well known for a long while.

I don't think the Chinese would have any difficulty making their own superb o/s - if the govt decides to do it.

It would be great if they did.

The Chinese were forbidden from making any tenders on building our National Broadband Network due to security concerns.

It'd probably be just a mish-mash counterfeit anyway. Lindows

Yes, actually there is a small security dialog window that opens before the one that I attached, and if I cancel it first, and reject the certificate in the second afterward, then it works fine. But if reversed, as I had done previously, the first window freezes and the screen darkens, and I have to close the tab entirely.

LOL,

If they are good enough to hack anything - they are good enough to make their own o/s.
