AV-TEST Mar-Apr/2012 Product Review and Certification Report

Looks like BitDefender: Internet Security 2012 finished on top, and AhnLab: V3 Internet Security 8.0 and ESET: Smart Security 5.0 lost their AV-Test Certification.

MSE didn't do to good on Prevention but did OK on cleaning up afterwards.

They tested Microsoft Security Essentials 2.1, not 4.0. MSE 4 is a lot better than 2.1. I have done my own tests with MSE 4.0 and it does very well.

When did it come out? Maybe it will make the next round.

I think MSE 4.0 came out about 2 months ago, or close to that.

I assume the next test cycle will be May/June. Lets hope MSE 4 makes it to the starting line. I wonder what will happen with Windows 8 as Windows Defender (new name for MSE) will be included with the OS. Hope they can test it also when Windows 8 is released.
