The 26 vulnerabilities -- one more than Microsoft last week told users to expect -- included 10 critical, 14 important and two judged "moderate" in the company's four-step scoring system.

And I only got one updated for Windows 8 RP. Is Win 8 that much more secure?

Curious...I just updated, and installed the 14 updates available, of which one was for Office. Then I checked the update history and not one of them was listed as critical. I then did a manual update check, but nothing new was offered. Where do you suppose that the critical ones went?

I received all the patches that recently were sent out by MS for Windows 7 but I have noticed a very strange chnage....normally when you pull up your file listing (i.e. My Documents) the icon for all of my MS Word docs have changed to an orange color grafic instead of the normal MS bue document graphic. Was this part of the update or is this a virus? I installed no other software, hardware, etc.

Did anyone else notice this? Also, I have only noticed this on MS Word and nothing else.

Mine are still blue. I have all the patch tuesday updates succesfully loaded.

Thanks HH. I suspect a virus. I ran Malware and found one trojan. With these type changes (to the icons) and the fact that there was a trojan detected (and removed) I am going to contact Norton or McAfee and see if they have had other instances with this happening.
