New update for Adobe Flash

Security updates available for Adobe Flash Player
Release date: February 7, 2013
Vulnerability identifier: APSB13-04
Priority: See table below
CVE number: CVE-2013-0633, CVE-2013-0634
Platform: All Platforms

Adobe is aware of reports that CVE-2013-0633 is being exploited in the wild in targeted attacks designed to trick the user into opening a Microsoft Word document delivered as an email attachment which contains malicious Flash (SWF) content. The exploit for CVE-2013-0633 targets the ActiveX version of Flash Player on Windows.

ALthough it only mentions Windows, and implies IE, I have two browser's that I use, I updated both just to be safe.

IE10 and Chrome should issue their own updates to Flash shortly. I'm not sure about other distro's or browser's.

If you use more than one browser you need to update for each.
  • I have two; FF and IE9.
  • FF has a NPAPI version of Flash
  • IE has an ActiveX version.
  • Use each browser to reach the Flash downlod page, and install each accordingly.
  • If you already have or don't want Chrome uncheck the "Yes, install Chrome as my default browser and Google Toolbar for" box.
