To counter this kind of threat, we at Malwarebytes tend to block entire advertiser networks in an effort to prevent our users from being a victim of malicious advertisements or malvertising. The purpose of this blog post is to explain exactly why you might see pop-ups from our Website Blocking function on a site that you thought you trusted.

I use Malwarebytes Anti Malware Pro and I like the idea of blocking bad adds.
Many very good sits can have bad/infected adds and not know it.

Yup. I just thought it was a good read. Some people panic and think the site is infected when its actually the ads.

Yea it's the redirection to the other sites which triggers it,
Must be an interesting site because I only get that popup on questionable sites or no question about it (they're questionable)

If you are talking about the one I posted it is Techrepublic which is a professional IT site. A part of ZDNet.

I do agree it is a good read and it should help with confusion about the pop up.
