Microsoft Security Bulletin Advance Notification for March 11th 2014

Quote:
Today we provide advance notification for the release of five bulletins for March 2014, two rated Critical and thee rated Important in severity. These updates address issues in Microsoft Windows, Internet Explorer and Silverlight.

The update provided in MS14-012 fully addresses the issue first described in Security Advisory 2934088. While we have seen a limited number of attacks using this issue, they have only targeted Internet Explorer 10. Customers using other versions of Internet Explorer have not been impacted.

As always, weíve scheduled the security bulletin release for the second Tuesday of the month, March 11, 2014, at approximately 10:00 a.m. PDT. Revisit this blog then for analysis of the risk and impact, as well as deployment guidance, together with a brief video overview of the monthís updates. Until then, please review the ANS summary page for more information to help you prepare for security bulletin testing and deployment.

Donít forget, you can also follow the MSRC teamís recent activity on Twitter at @MSFTSecResponse.

Thank you,

Thanks for the heads up,
Someone referred to windows having a hot patch available but I didn't think it was really necessary to use it ?
Op was thinking upgrading to ie11 would avoid the issue

Mine didn't go very well,
The only thing I've done was to use JRT junkware removal tool,
Ended up using system restore back to 3/8 I believe when another Important update was loaded and a restore point,
Then took baby steps,
ie10 first/ boot,
The biggest windows update second/ boot,
Then the rest,
Tried that before and each failed,
JRT found nothing ?
Bad mojo ?
Cheers.
