Windows 7: windows7 lockout

I downloaded Bitdefender trial for my daughters new laptop running Windows 7, and I received a confirmation email to my Mac, with an account confirmation request which i did not activate because i was on a different machine. However, bitdefender on the laptop advised that the current password was too simple, so I expanded it. Now, a day later when I try to use her password (old or new) is denies entry - I'm guessing its because i did not trigger the account confirmation on the laptop, but I'm not sure. However, I'm stranded - do I get back in? Help!
