Windows 7: Forefront Client Security, MSE, Frequent DB upgrades

Forefront Client Security, MSE, Frequent DB upgrades

Hi all
I'm using Forefront Client Security - this is a "Corporate" / "Server" version of an enhanced MSE which can also run on "Stand alone" Non server machines.

What impresses me about this is how often the data base is updated - it's done as you can see from the screenshot usually ONCE A DAY and some times even TWICE or more.

Microsoft unlike a lot of other organisations has the resources to do this and as MSE uses essentially the same data base as Forefront Client Security I'd recommend people to use that and forget nearly everything else.

Paid for security systems on HOME (not WORK) machines IMO is going to be HISTORY soon so all the current AV software is naturally going to fall behind MS -- since if it's all FREE where is the business model for revenue. MS has w7, office ETC ETC so it can devote a lot of resources into (finally) keeping its OS safe.

I expect to see in 2010 a few of the FREE AV providers either go out of business or hobble the functionality so much that they become almost worthless with few database upgrades.
