Security Warning for MS Internet Explorer.

Quote:

The German government has warned web users to find an alternative browser to Internet Explorer to protect security. The warning from the Federal Office for Information Security comes after Microsoft admitted IE was the weak link in recent attacks on Google's systems.
Microsoft says the security hole can be shut by setting the browser's security zone to "high", although this limits functionality and blocks many websites.
However, German authorities say that even this would not make IE fully safe.

Steve,
Yes, I noted that.
The information does encompass both areas.
Not all of our members / guests visit both on a regular basis.

hi !

JMH: "Security Warning for MS Explorer."
???

what is that ?
from reading the text in your post, it seems you mean Internet Explorer.
may i suggest you change the topic ?

it your intention are to warn others, then it might a good idea to use the "proper" well known name so people understand and read your post.

as we know things can be confusing since there is also another explorer which handles the desktop etc.

Win 7 Security Warning?
Hi, I was browsing a webpage and got a security warning pop-up box. A screen shot of the pop-up is attached. Is this a Win 7 security warning? I don't think it's an ESET Smart Security 7 security warning. I suspect it's a malware trick. Thank you for your assistance. Regards
