Schools Across America Cut Cost and Increase Protection Quote: Schools Across America Cut Cost and Increase Protection with Vexira AntiVirus.
Central Command, Inc., a leading provider of antivirus, antispyware and antithreat solutions for schools, businesses and enterprises, announced today that schools across America are quickly switching to Vexira Antivirus and saving thousands of dollars and increasing Internet protection for students, faculty and staff. Educational institutions can purchase Vexira(R) Antivirus for as low as $1.29 per license. This unique program allows all educational institutions to affordably defend themselves from computer virus, spyware and malware attacks.
With school districts across America facing budget cuts it is important that they stay protected against computer virus, spyware and other Internet-based threats. The manpower and costs associated with a widespread infection clean-up within a school district can quickly exceed $30,000 per incident.
Ogilvie Public School District in Minnesota selected Vexira Antivirus because of its ease-of-use, flexibility, dependable Internet protection and low cost. "We have found that Vexira is very user-friendly software to install and use. Our students and staff are now safer online with Vexira protecting them. With the special educational pricing and improved protection, it's been a win-win since switching to Vexira," said Becky Sanborn, Technology Coordinator, Ogilvie Public School District. The bigger part of the issue is that a school, business, etc would need to centrally manage, deploy and monitor all machines to ensure that they are up to date. These freebie apps don't include this functionality. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Self-Built in July 2009 OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 CPU Intel Q9550 2.83Ghz OC'd to 3.40Ghz Motherboard Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3R rev. 1.1, F12 BIOS Memory 8GB G.Skill PI DDR2-800, 4-4-4-12 timings Graphics Card EVGA 1280MB Nvidia GeForce GTX570 Sound Card Realtek ALC899A 8 channel onboard audio Monitor(s) Displays 23" Acer x233H Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard ABS M1 Mechanical Mouse Logitech G9 Laser Mouse PSU Corsair 620HX modular Case Antec P182 Cooling stock Hard Drives Intel X25-M 80GB Gen 2 SSD

The systems in my computer club were all "protected" with AVG free - and they collected tons of viruses, trojans, worms and alike. We spent 2 weeks to clean them up with MSE and Malwarebytes. 6 systems were effected - 3 operating systems each. Now it is MSE protecting them - we'll see.
The problem originates from people using USB sticks and SD cards that are infected. And with 650 different people using these systems, it is hard to control. We also disabled Autoplay now and ask everyone to scan their devices before they use them. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP, Dell, Gateway - 2 laptops and 2 desktops OS Vista and Windows7, sometimes Ubuntu and Fedora CPU from 1.6GHz Duo to 2.5GHz Quad Monitor(s) Displays 2x HP w2207 Keyboard with trackball - no mices Mouse terrible devices, who wants them Hard Drives 5x HDD, 2x SSD, 6x Externals Internet Speed DSL 6000 |

What a pitty... AVs in these days are waste of money, why still trust the outdated blacklist technology using in AV/AS/AM products which will offer ONLY Detection level of protection while the first and the most important security layer is Prevention... then Detection.... then Cure in this order. AV can be free in this case - it also really doesn't matter if your AV is top notch and takes first places in thousand available AV security-lab tests if your first layer of protection is prevention.
Many people still forget that today is not 1995 when new viruses was very rare (per day in 1995 was created 4 new viruses!) Today we have ~300.000 new viruses per day. It is impossible for greatest AV labs on the World to add all of them in one working day and send updated signatures to all AV users! Thats the truth... and that is where they should search savings.
