I just got a Motorola Droid Razr Maxx today. (4.04 Anrdoid?) Why would I want to download the app to my computer? I know nothing about this phone yet and can barely answer a call or make one.

Howzit work please?

I don't know specifics, but believe you would download it with the phone itself

You gave up the phone because you don't have a Gmail account?
Why not just create one?

Google does enough spying without our knowledge, no sense giving them more.

They all spy and if you were that worried about Google then why buy a Google OS'd phone

Seriously, if you are going to get the best out of your phone then you will need to use Google play so you might as well set a gmail account up just to use for that, then you can play with all the app available for your new toy phone.
