Just downloaded the app onto my iPad Mini. Am testing it now. Would the data usage be lower using the app than browsing the forum using Safari on the iPad?

I find it's better to use a browser when on the ipad or mini, but I would think data usage would be lower with the app as it's not downloading all the skin images, js & css files.

Nope, it's not worth the investment - currently the apps cost me $99 per year but as the developer has changed business model if I update them they would cost me $40 per month so unless something drastic happens there will be no more updates.

This is good news for PC Flash-based developers. Apple relents on Flash-derived iPhone, iPad apps | Deep Tech - CNET News I know not everyone in this forum is a fan of Flash, but I think this is a major concession for Apple. This is, in no small way, due to the Android OS. ;)
