    Problem Win 7 & Audacity

    Hi there,

I just upgraded to W7 and have been trying to get my new system to use Audacity (audio editor & recorder) but Audacity keeps telling me that it doesn't see the device.. the device is a Plantronics usb headset. It looks like it's installed in the sound section of control panel but Audacity still doesn't see it. I was on xp home before and use this headset with Audacity without problem for months.

    Any ideas/help would be appreciated.

Did you install any extra plug-ins for audacity before? I know there are a few out there.

Yes there are plugins available; however, I have not reloaded any as yet my my move to W&. Most of the plugins are for things like removing the excess "S" sounds called de-essing etc.

Have you tried other microphones, or checked in Sound in control panel to make sure the microphone on the headset is configured to be a recording device?
