dell vostro 1700 with win 7 on it
had major infections on it....cleaned them up
java is installed somple,and getting
error 1723..problem with windows installer package on this computer,amissing Dll for this install and could not be run????
any ideas

You will probably find it easier and faster to reinstall windows 7 rather than trying to troubleshoot the various problems you now have.
If you have a backup from prior to the problem you can restore from that.
If you do not have a backup do you have a working windows dvd to either do a repair install, or clean install?

just old xp disks.....darn i had a friend that put win 7 ultimate on my vostro 1700
