    Bandwidth Monitor?

    Hey Guys,

This is my first post here on the forums, and I'm so glad I found this site!

Anyways, I installed build 7000 the other day and I can't get my trusty bandwidth monitor to work (netmeter). I was wondering if you guys know of any other free applications similar to netmeter that you guys have gotten working on build 7000? Hopefully it's ok that I post this here. Thanks guys!

Does netmeter work at router level? I would love to be able to monitor the TOTAL of what my house sends in and out. Preferably without having to install stuff on every computer (roommate and fiance both would not like that idea). I don't even care what he does, I just want to be able to see the bandwidth totals, not monitor usage.

i believe you need a hardware solution for that...
or at least a very good router router....
(hint a hackable linksys router would be a good choice)

    you can use opendns...
but it only works with dns queries...

I have a Linksys 600N I believe it is called. I guess I could switch the firmware if I had to, but my "need" for monitoring goes away soon, so its probably not worth it.

I would love to have something like that, I am sure I am being ripped off with my usage every time I download a torrent I look at my usage and it is double the amount of the file size and I'm sick of it, now they have slowed me again 64kbps.

    Bigpond sucks!!

Thanks for the replies! I'll give one of those options a try.

Also, I run DD-WRT on my Linksys router and it has a built in bandwidth monitor feature. It's pretty slick. :)
