pdf not showing covers in x64

since i moved to win 7 x64 my pdf files using adobe acrobat pro 9 do not show the covers.
This is particularly annoying because when you have twenty plus magazines of the same title but different dates its a nuisance not seeing the front covers ,this feature worked fine in Windows 7 x32 the only way it shows the covers is when you open acrobat then file/open , this gives you a navigation window when you open the folder you can see your covers . however i like to go to the folder first see the files and select one then it opens in acrobat , any ideas will be most welcome

Using the 64-bit version of explorer? that would be why.
Adobe has not made there explorer extension with 64-bit suppport.

I think that was a typo, 54 should have been 64. And I think he means explorer not IE. I'm running x64 and see the same thing you do. As a work around you could turn on the preview pain. Then when you highlight a PDF file, the cover will show up in the preview pain.

It's an OS issue with the way it's displayed. I use the Nuance PDF reader it shows a Nuance icon rather than the document.

ok this is odd it wont show in preview pane see pic, but the files i managed to get to show in acrobat file/open and then selecting folder for the purpose of earlier screenshot for post are now showing up.
whether they remain after reboot is yet to be seen.
some of the files show the cover or first page and the others dont as i hadn't opened them in adobe .

boohbah,

I'm using PDF-Xchange Viewer and I'm not seeing thumbnails in Windows Explorer at the moment either. While trawling the site for an answer I came across this thread that is about Acrobat in 64bit. So although it doesn't (?) solve my problem, it may solve yours.
