Compatibility Issues with Visual Studio 2005 Standard Edition

Hello All! Hope everything is well.

My OS is Windows 7 Home Premium 32-Bit

I installed Visual Studio 2005 Standard edition. While in the installation process, a Program Compatibility Assistant popped up. I clicked the "Run Program" button. The installation was successful.

Then, I will install the Visual Studio 2005 service pack 1 for Windows vista update. But unfortunately, a message popped up saying :

    [Window Title]
    Windows Installer
    [Main Instruction]
The upgrade patch cannot be installed by the Windows Installer service because the program to be upgraded may be missing, or the upgrade patch may update a different version of the program. Verify that the program to be upgraded exists on your computer and that you have the correct upgrade patch.
    [OK]

These are the things I already did but no luck at all:
    1. executing the SP1 by right click and click the "Run As Administrator".
    2. I have Visual Studio 2005 Standard Edition installed in Program Files and tried installing outside Program Files.

    Could someone help me?
    Thanks in advance.

You need to install SP1 for Visual Studio 2005 first: Download details: Visual Studio® 2005 Team Suite SP1. Then you should be able to install Download details: VS2005 SP1 Update for Vista, which is an update to Visual Studio 2005 SP1 that allows it to work properly with Windows Vista.

Ensure you run both as administrator and let us know if this allows you to update or not.
