cannot create new project - Adobe Premiere CS4.
Hi All, this is my first post so please excuse any rookie mistakes. I am a network admin and graphic artist/video editor. I am 47 years old and I have been using premiere pro since version 1. I have been using and administrating windows and mac os since the early DOS and apple 1 days. I upgraded my computer to windows 7 ultimate 32 bit and installed master collection CS5 and then premiere CS4 with 32 bit support (I dont have a 64 bit computer yet!) I had some issues with firewire 1394 drivers and had to revert one IE1394 adaptor to legacy drivers. after doing that my canon HV-20 dsv camera is recognised and I am able to use it with flash media live encoder and other software. However, When running Premiere CS4 I can open projects but The system hangs when creating new project.
I have tried ALL of the recommended fixes from Adobe,
Fonts, drivers, updates, newest quicktime, plugins, plugin cache recreation, cs4 preferences recreation, update video card drivers, disable aero, remove third party codecs, set paging file. I am stumped at this point (very unusual, now this has become a quest) also when I open an existing file and try to capture the machine freezes. I am lead editor and producer for HMTV and I have projects backing up!! any help would be greatly appreciated nomatter how simple! I must be missing something I noticed that in the wait chain there are 2 listed problems (one or more threads of Premiere Pro are in waiting status)
I have a pinnacle studio movie board with 1394 firewire as well but it does not work to capture with Premiere cs4 either
