64bit Software Help

Your programs doesn't works cuz , you recently upgraded to x64 and you need x64 version programs
Internet Download Manager 5.18 in my opinion :)

As far as a AV or Internet Security Suite, there are many which are 64bit compatable.

As far as which ones the best.. well that depends largely on:
1. What features you want/need
2. Personal Preference
3. Whether you want a free version, or a paid version

Generally speaking, the paid versions offer more extra features.

Many highly recommend MSE (Microsoft Security Essentials), which is a free Anti Virus. It can be used with Windows Built in Firewall.
For a paid software, with more features, I would recommend checking out Norton.
Again, its ultimately preference.

For the rest of your software, I would suggest simply going to their main webpage. the large majority will have a 64bit version, or updated version that works under Win7 x64.
Keep in mind not all software will specifically be a 64bit app. this is not uncommon, as many will only have a 32bit version. What is important is making sure it states it will work under Windows 7 x64. it should be clearly labeled
If you have a choice between 64 or 32bit, Go with the 64bit if at all possible.

Same for drivers. Get them directly from the manufacturer.

Do not trust any application that scans and automatically suggests the best driver etc.
They do not always suggest what you actually need nor are they looking after your best interests.

We're starting a campaign called "friends don't let friends use Norton". Just kidding. I use Microsoft's firewall, MSE and malwarebytes. Many here do as well. You should be happy and relatively safe with this combination.
