    Issues Galore

Hi, ever since installing a codec Pack that changed my environment location i cannot uninstall or install itunes quick time and Adobe Audition It just won't let me. it says files are either located on an imaginary location or that the program is in use. Restarting computer does not do anything at all Cannot use system restore I would like to fix this issue, but preferrably without having to reinstall windows :P

Did you perform a restore point before you installed the codec pack?
It seems starnge that a codec would cause the issue.

What is the name of the codec pack, and where did you find it?

DiracDirectshow and it asked to switch environments
Apparently this is not the issues..

I am just betting it is a screw up with new itunes version as people have this issue off and on (from my research) why the other progs don't work may be cuz of some glitch (ie my crt monitor does not support their settings, used to but then i changed display settings) or like possibly a virus
I restored my pc back to normal as it was a week ago, it works great now but itunes will not update. I am able to use the version i have, so will just wat till next update..

Also, now those codecs have never been installed

    And all other issues solved.

I know win7 has problems with aspi and audio drivers for older programs
    Worked on winxp,

Guess i could run xp mode
but then agin, i could just use a differnet program :P

    Thanks :)

Have you tried to boot up in safe mode and uninstall the items in question?
Since in safe mode only the absolute necessary drivers are being loaded you should be able to get rid of whatever is not part of the OS.

From my own experiences over the years I never load any Codec-Pack but rather only the codec I'm missing for a specific file (rmvb is a common candidate )...sometimes less is more
