How to have image files display as thumbnails not icons

I am running Win. 7 Ult. 64 bit. I would like to have my image files show as thumbnails not icons. How is this done. Any help would certainly be appreciated. stream.

on the bar that has the Burn, slideshow and new folder options there is a small icon that resembles a picture on the right side and it gives different options on displaying picture files

hi stream, open a window go to Organize /folder and search options /view (tab) uncheck always show icons never thumbnails.

Thanks boobah and theski232 for the replies. Tiff and jpeg files show as thumbnails but .psd files do not. stream.

Stream .psd files wont show as thumbnails. there is a pluggin to change this but its a trial and you have to buy after

Hey, I've been trying to change the icons of a few of my applications, but if I right click their shortcuts and go on properties > Change Icon, I only seem to be able to select actual Icon files. I want to be able to use .png files as icons, is there any way to do this? Thanks
