what is the best codec for win 7

    I would try K Lite. Shark bashes it a lot but I really don't know why he calls it K-Crap, it has served me very well with Media Player Classic installed for a very long time.

    Personally I just use TheKMPlayer
    Plays everything I throw at it. I know it's a player rather than a codec but still a good option.

    Simply use VLC media player, pretty much the best, it's free, and plays everything.

I use shark's codec pack but it seems to only run ffshow when running WMP. MC still does not use ffshow (so it seems). What I am trying to do is use it to adjust volume level... anyone know a fix?
