Windows 7: WLM taskbar option doesn't work

Hi evereone, when I'm on Windows Live Messenger and I change my status by right-cliking on WLM icon in the task bar, it open me a new window that I can log on, but without changing my status in current window where I'm already tchating.

Nobody has an idea of what is my proble with Windows Live Messenger?

What exactly IS the problem? If you're already running WLM, there is no way in hell that it will open you a new login window instead of changin your status via the taskbar.

Please provide more details of your problem, and it would be good if we could see any screenshots/snips.

Try this:
1. right click WLM in the taskbar.
2. right click again on the WLM icon above "(un)pin this shortcut to the taskbar" and go to properties.
3. Compatibility tab -> run in Vista SP2 mode.

This will make WLM get rid of a thumbnail preview of your avatar in the taskbar and move this "instance" to the system tray, but still keep the main window preview in the taskbar. Then try from either the taskbar or system tray to change your status while logged in.

Thank you for this tip, the status change without opening a new window, but I want to use WLM from the task bar, so if you have any ideas of what I can try, I'm ready.
