    Sony Ericsson PC Suite

An interesting development. I just updated to 7127 (went well but longer than i thought/hoped). Once everything loaded, PC Suite can't detect my phone. It worked on 7100. m-router can't see it either. The really interesting thing is that "my phone explorer" connects and syncs (it shouldn't work cause pc suite is not connected) very weird...

Well you can rule out drivers, usually the Suite installs them..
    Tried reinstalling the Suite?

i've got a w960. the weird thing with it is that "my phone explorer" shouldn't have been able to synch with my phone because pc suite couldn't detect it.

I installed PC Suite on 7100. If you didnt look under the covers you would think it is perfectly compatible as I haven't noticed any application issues.

Unfortunately, Event Viewer isnt as happy. It is continually generating "sidebySide" errors in event viewer. The details are very strange mentioning AMD64 architecture when I am running 32 bit windows on Intel.

    Here is the actual message:

Activation context generation failed for "c:\program files\sony ericsson\sony ericsson pc suite\Drivers\DPInst64.exe". Dependent Assembly Microsoft.Windows.Common-Controls,language="*",processorArchitecture="amd64",publicKeyToken="6595b64144ccf1df",type="win 32",version="6.0.0.0" could not be found. Please use sxstrace.exe for detailed diagnosis.

I have read other posts where the "sidebyside" event viewer error is fixed by installing a missing c++ library? Here is the link:

    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

Anyhow, I'm a bit hesitant to load that library on Windows 7. Anyone have any thoughts on this?
