Right click on the pdf, click "Open with..", click "Chooe default program", then highlight adobe or foxit (whichever you want to be the default program), check the box "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file", Click OK. The icon for pdf files will change depending on which program you selected.

    Hi,

It's all based on which options you choose when installing the software. Most applications will check to see if you have other apps that currently open a particular file (e.g. PDF) and ask if you want to set the default reader.

However, if you wish, you can change the default app manually by right-clicking a PDF file and selecting 'Open With', then choosing the default app from there

       Note
When doing the above, please make sure that 'Always use the selected program to open this file type' box is checked.

    Hope this helps :)

Should have added if you want less bloat, and fewer security issues then try Foxit!

If you don't like it go back to Adobe Reader.

OK thank you all for the answers

The only time I use Adobe is reading bills & bank statements.

I'm going to use Foxit & see what happens

If you do install Foxit, be aware that it comes bundled with Ask toolbar ... uncheck the box!!
