Windows 7: Video encoders don't show

Video encoders don't show

I recently installed xvid and divx codecs. The problem is that when I try to use any program to encode a video, the video encoders dont show up in the encoders list.

For xvid, I found the codec files in syswow64 folder. The xvid encoder configurator from the start menu uses the shortcut to rundll32.exe xvidvfw.dll,Configure, but even if I copy these files from syswow64 to system32, I cannot use the encoder in any programs. It doesnt show up.

What's the problem???
