So how did you try to get rid of it so far?

Have you tried System Restore to a point before you downloaded?

Uninstalling the PortableApps.com Suite or Platform

Since the PortableApps.com Suite and Platform is self-contained, uninstalling is a snap. To remove the suite, you simply delete its files. This would be the derekimo I tried it did not work am trying to have someone from the forum try it in windows 7 and see if it will uninstall being a disabled person am not technical with computers would you try it see if it uninstalls for you please

Documents and PortableApps directories as well as the StartPortableApps.exe and autorun.inf files in the root directory. If you don't have any data you wish to save on your portable device, you could also format it if you'd like. If you do have data within the Documents directory you'd like to save, simply delete the directories you don't wish to keep. To remove the custom icons on the Documents directory (or any others), just delete the hidden desktop.ini file within each directory.

Is J a hard drive or a USB flash drive? Did you download the package before running, or did you run it while downloading? I always recommend that all applications should be downloaded and saved prior to running them from the saved file. Never try to install as you download. I'm just trying it out, having copied the installation file to my USB key and then running it from there, pointing the output folder as the USB key (you DID check that, didn't you?).

The following shows the contents of the USB key that I installed the suite on. Since there is an autorun file present, this could be your problem. On OSes that permit USB devices to autorun on insertion, this will cause the application to run automatically (Win7 doesn't have this feature enabled for security reasons). On an internal drive, this file might be executed each time the drive is first accessed. Delete Autorun.inf, close the main application window and then delete the folders and files. The ones to delete are shown below (delete all of these).

Did you delete Autorun.inf from your J drive? The other folders and files will be found on that drive since you installed on there. Do you have a folder called PortableApps and a file by the name of StartPortableApps.exe? These are the items that you need to delete as well.
