Can't Print Adobe PDF Files with 64 bit Windows 7 Premium

I got a new computer last month. When people send me Adobe PDF Files I can't print them with 64 bit Windows 7 Premium that is on my new computer.

I have Adobe Reader 9.3.4 . Is there an add on I need so I am able to print? It must have already been on my old puter with XP.

    Thanks bunches Dorothy

What exactly happens when you try to print? Btw: Foxit that Lemur suggests is a lot better.

A box pops up. On the shaded outer area of the box it says "Adobe Reader" on the inside of the box in the middle it says " this document could not be printed"

    Thanks for assistance. Dorothy

Dorothy, can you print a pdf from a website? I just want to make sure the files sent to you haven't been corrupted.

Also, you could try starting Adobe Reader, click on HELP, then REPAIR ADOBE READER INSTALLATION. It's worth a try.

FYI -thought I'd contribute my fix:
Had a user that was suddenly unable to print PDFs locally or to network printer; all other docs (Word, excel, html, etc.) printed fine:
    * Updated Adobe X reader and reboot machine.
    * Ran other updates that were ready; flash and java
    * In Adobe X reader view->preferences->general unchecked "start in protected mode" and closed any/all adobe docs.

    Various PDFs printed fine.
