    dll problem


    Hi

    I have a third party dll install app from a company that is now out of business.

    The dll can be installed on Win XP with no problem but doesn't like Win 7 even in compatibility mode. I run Win 7 Home.

    Is there some other way of running the installer?

    The alternate is to recode the dll for win 7.

    Help for either would be appreciated.

    Since you are running W7 64 bit I'm guessing the installer is 16 bit. The easiest way may be to set up an XP 32 bit virtual machine and run the software in that. If you need help setting up a VM ask here:
