Windows 7, Home. (upgraded last year)
HP notebook DV 6928.
Original OS: Vista, Home Premium.
120GB external F for most files. (Aluratek 120GB).
1.5TB external "W", for music and video files and backup.
Both are USB connected.
Computer C drive has program files and startup related files, and some Desktop files.
Installed Genie Timeline freeware 2.1 version. Two days ago.
My quirky system requires me to unplug F drive prior to hibernation or when computer is asleep, that is, during hibernation, or it will not restart, awaken correctly.
With F unplugged it starts correctly and pre- Genie, simply reinserted the F drive and all was well.
Can't figure why, but this seems to assure correct awakening. Always.
"W" works fine always.
So, with Genie installed I seem to have to use the safely remove hardware to assure things seem to go well.
BUT now when I reinsert the F drive via USB a message comes up saying I must reformat the F drive. At first I nearly lost my breath.
It take a very long time but the F drive is then recognized by my computer.
Any thoughts on either issue: the F drive needs to be unplugged prior to awakening, or the second issue,
OR
the Genie Timeline saying I must reformat my F drive, which is definitely incorrect.
Though the name on this thread is Genie Timeline, please let's deal with that first.
Cheers,
Bob
