Wow that seemed to do the trick! I am back up and running Adobe Premiere Pro. Thanks a bunch Kirk.

Just a general question, but has anyone looked at the .pdf file which comes with CS4 concerning installation issues? It talks about installing and running the first time as admin, and not changing the default directory for the x64 version. Plus some other things like uninstalling and Deactivating.

I was having these issues too. I couldn't get my blackberry software installed or any msi. I tried every other fix and your zip file was the only one who worked. Although I had to take ownership and then make myself have full rights. I still got like 1000 "access is denied" so you have been warned but when I still was able to copy the files. This is a god awful bug I hope it gets reported by everyone. It appears if one net based installer screw ups well you might not be able to install another one

trying to get gladinet running got it installed with your zip file but now get "sidebyside" error. So had to google and found out more than I needed to know about how to debug it

anyways it appears I'm also missing this file
C:\Windows\assembly\GAC_32\Microsoft.VC80.CRT.mui\8.0.50727.3521_en_1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b\Microsoft.VC80. CRT.mui.DLL.

There is a popular problem when you install Acrobat from CS4 on a W7x64 sys, that you don't get the usual Adobe PDF print driver auto installed. You have to install the printer manually and I found these instructions to do so on the Acrobat Community forum (which worked fine for me on two systems):

•Click your Start Button and select Control Panel
•Select Devices and Printers
•Select Add a printer
•Select Add a local printer
•Check Use an existing port and select Documents\*.pdf (Adobe PDF) from the drop down. Click Next
•Click the Have Disk… button
•Click the Browse… button
•Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 9.0\Acrobat\Xtras\AdobePDF
•Select AdobePDF.inf from the list, then click the OK button
•You will see many Adobe PDF Converters in the list, however count six down from the top and click Next
•Name your printer, in my case I named mine Adobe PDF
•Follow the rest of the prompts

You are a lifesaver. It worked like a champ. I did get a blue screen on windows restart and had to do a repair but CS4 installed perfectly afterwards.

Hi!

My problem, running Photoshops CS4 is dissappearing a setup window("Adobe Photoshop CS4 Install - Progress") at initializing process and i can not continue installation.

Same problem is when i tried to install a CS3 version - the window crushed after files unpacked!

registering jscript.dll was unhelpfull also like as changing compability modes and "run as Administrator" - was unhelpfull too.

It discusses several problem areas. If you downloaded, it should be on a Adobe CS4 folder on your desktop, it should also be available on the CD.
