Hide programs in the Add/Remove files.

Hey guys, first off I just wanted to say I have tried many searches each worded differently to try and find a answer.

What I want to do is when you go to Control panel>Add/Remove Programs, I want to make a particular file hidden. I already have the folder hidden but I want the file in there to be hidden to.
Thanks in advanced for any help you can give me. :)

Read this page carefully and try the methods one by one.

How to hide an entry in the Add/Remove Programs applet?

Method Doesn't Work With Windows 7

I have windows 7 home edition 64-bit and am thus unable to run "gpedit.msc" per the numerous websites i visited in an attempt to solve the problem obtaining instructions on hiding an "add/remove programs" entry. I can access the registry by typing either "regedit" or "regedt32" but there is absolutely no subkey or reference to the program i want to hide in "hklm/software/microsoft/windows/current version/uninstall. The program is installed and set to run at startup, which it does, and it appears in the registry in under "hklm/software/microsoft". No display name is referenced in the program's folder. I am at a loss....i was able to hide the program in xp but windows 7 is kicking my a.....uh, butt. It's driving me nuts! Can you help, or direct me to the appropriate website? Alternatively, is their a way to hide/deny access to the control panel or the add/remove programs?

I'd appreciate any help i can get!

Search for all occurrences of the program, see what shows up. An easy way to do this is to install RegSeeker and use it's Find in Registry tool.

You are using 64 bit which means the uninstall key you listed will have only the 64 bit programs listed. For 32 bit programs try the following key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\

    Hope this helps...
